Debra Olson, a Republican candidate for Dupage County Chairman, received two endorsements this week.

Olson, who is currently a member of the county board, was endorsed by Tax Accountability, the political action arm of National Taxpayers United of Illinois. Olson was a signee of the organization's Taxpayer Protection Pledge, pledging to oppose "any and all efforts to increase taxes. In recognition of your exceptional desire to fight taxes and support economic growth."

In her press release Olson said she has been a consistent opponent of raising taxes in DuPage County. She also takes a swipe at two of her primary opponents, Sens. Dan Cronin and Carole Pankau, by saying she has opposed tax increases while they supported increases at the state level including the RTA sales tax bill and the Video Gambling expansion.

Olson was also endorsed by the grassroots social media group DuPage Conservatives. Frank Napolitano, the organizer of the organization, said Olson "helped reduce the size of the Government by 10 percent helping to keep our taxes low in DuPage County. She is for pension reform at the County, and statewide to help reduce costs at all government levels in Illinois."
