No matter what the issue, Debra always has one goal: Get results for the people she represents.
Now serving in her third term on the County Board, Debra has been a strong advocate for common sense policies. Among her many achievements over the past six years, Debra:
- Led the fight for long-term budgeting and greater financial accountability of your tax dollars.
- Voted against pay raises, refused perks and stipends, and supports cutting bloated pensions for elected officials.
- Advocates for greater efficiency in County government and reduced burden on taxpayers through aggressive collaboration, cost-sharing, improved utilization of facilities, and elimination of duplication among County departments and agencies as Chairman of the Cost Efficiency Committee.
- Opposes property tax increases.
- Brought extensive improvements to roads and drainage systems in our District and around the County.
- Opposes attempts to obtain Home Rule (thus expanded taxing powers) through a court ruling.
- Supports sweeping Ethics Reform to the County’s Ethics Code and transparency in government through online access to agendas, meeting information, and votes.
- Supports allocation of DuPage Homeland Security resources to link townships, municipalities and county for greater emergency preparedness.
- Advocates use of environment-friendly technologies and alternative fuel vehicles by County departments.
- Works with community leaders in Education, Business, Government, Non-Profit organizations and more to implement goals of the DuPage County Strategic Plan.
- Worked alongside other DuPage County officials to establish Drug Court and Mental Health Court.
- Worked with municipalities, trails groups, and citizens on the DuPage Trails Maintenance Policy Task Force, resulting in a comprehensive trails maintenance policy and improved safety measures.
